Pete, a British-Vietnamese artist residing in the heart of London, leverages his exceptional ability for concentrated focus, a trait often associated with his autism, to craft intricate narratives steeped in artistic metaphors. With a commendable academic background that includes a 2:1 degree in software engineering, Peter dedicated a 11-year tenure in the world of corporate banking. During this time, he held the position of 'System Analyst' within the domain of foreign exchange, supporting banks across the globe. However, the allure of a different, more modest existence beckoned, ultimately prompting him to relinquish his flourishing corporate career in pursuit of the art that had ignited his passion.
One pivotal chapter in his life, affectionately referred to as 'the Spanish Inquisition,' served as a wellspring of inspiration and introspection, offering Peter rich material to contemplate and convey through his artistic endeavours. When conventional language faltered, art eloquently stepped in, rendering words superfluous. Thus, he gracefully set aside his pen and embarked on a journey where art itself became the poignant, articulate voice of his emotions and experiences. The art of storytelling, a fossil from the five years he dedicated to his creative craft, now stands as a testament to his artistic legacy.
Between 2021 and 2026, Pete sold over 10,000 prints through direct sales under the name Artistically Autistic. The experience became more than a way to share artwork; it also created a record of conversations, observations, and reflections gathered over five years. Following his final year at the market, Pete intends to focus on preserving this collection of work through visual and audio storytelling, ensuring that the ideas, stories, and personal notes behind the illustrations remain accessible for future audiences.
